Corricella

Corricella is a fishing-village, found in a natural amphitheatre by the sea, west of the acropolis of Terra Murata. It’s a beautiful village of whitewashed houses and community still very much involved in fishing. The principal access road to the village is the gradinata (slope), which begins in front of the little church of St. Rocco at the end of the slope leading down from Piazza dei Martiri.

Terra Murata

Walking from here you go to Salita Castello and from this point you have a comprehensive view of the island. You will finally arrive at Terra Murata where there is S. Margherita convent, the Royal Palace and the beautiful abbey of St. Michele with its loggia with a suggestive view of the sea.
